Tom was born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago.  He attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois where he obtained his BA in History with a minor in Psychology, and was a 4-year member of the Augustana Concert Choir under the direction of Don Morrison.  After attending law school at Loyola University of Chicago and practicing personal injury law there, he moved to Colorado in 1982 after which he tried 35 cases as a deputy district attorney in Adams County, Colorado.

Tom’s experiences have taught him what kind of evidence impresses a jury and what kind of evidence may not, which gives him a rich perspective on the value of a case.  He believes that when a fair offer is made it’s best to settle, but when an unfair offer is made, a client must consider allowing his lawyer to file suit so that pressure can be applied to the defendant and his insurance carrier to do the right thing or be ready to withstand a trial on the merits to a jury of peers.  The key is understanding the value of any given case.  Tom’s 30 years of experience, having resolved over 2,000 cases and recovered over $50 million dollars for clients in all kinds of accidents with every kind of injury has given him a unique ability to evaluate the value of any given claim.

Tom’s hobbies include hiking, biking, running, playing keyboard, philosophy, and stock and options trading.  He lives with his wife, Carolyn, and their four cats, Loki, Coco, Jasmine and Lola.  Tom has called Colorado home for almost 40 years.
